The debate on the issue of marijuana legalization in the United States has further intensified after the referendum was held during the presidential election. In San Francisco, the recreational marijuana is newly legalized for medicinal purposes. The American Association for the use of marijuana for medical purposes (AMMA) every year becomes more and more influential organization, attracting to its ranks hundreds of thousands of new supporters. Over the past 12 months, the number has increased by more than half a million people. The AMMA activists since 1999 demonstrated in favor of the use of marijuana for medical and preventive purposes, supporting the partial legalization of the drug in all states of the country. Over the past seven years, researchers have conducted dozens of outstanding research, which confirmed that marijuana is the most effective cure for many diseases – from insomnia and ending with the lung cancer.
Though marijuana is legalized in many states; its use is still not clear due to the lack of regulations in the law. San Francisco is a big market for the recreational marijuana, and its residents have expressed their desire for the legalization of this medicine. There is a need to have a committee comprising of different experts, who can come up with a framework for the regulations of marijuana use in the state.
It is not out of the question that the use of marijuana brings about certain consequences for the user’s health. To counter the negative effects of marijuana, a yoga teacher, Dee Dussault believes that the Ganga Yoga can be an effective tool. He has also initiated classes for GangaYoga for the users of recreational marijuana so that they can only be benefited from the advantageous effects of marijuana.
The legalization of marijuana also has an influence on the value of real estate industry. The recreational marijuana is stored in big commercial spaces, and its supply is short due to the legal barriers, which results in the higher prices. Hence, certain medical complexities demands marijuana to be legalized in San Francisco, but yes, the regulation and control is very much obvious.
The increasing popularity of marijuana as a medicine has open ways for its legalizations; however, the open access to its use can adversely affect children. There is a need to have balanced and well-defined structural, legal adjustments in a way that, marijuana can specifically be used for its positive reasons.
